Yoga

Getting back to yoga after a few months off. It is wonderful! Not only do I get 90 minutes to myself, but I get meditation, breathing, and physical stretching and toning too. But really, it’s the only time of day that I spend not thinking of “stuff”. Just thinking about your breath and your body is heaven. And when you do that, let all the other stuff go for awhile, the other stuff just isn’t that important anymore. And what’s more, it tends to almost take care of itself.

Being in the practice of focusing on my body has helped me to be more present in everyday life. Sitting at a coffee shop instead of thinking about what needs to be done, I think about what I am seeing, what I am hearing, what I am smelling, what I feel my body touching. It makes being present easy. Something I would like to teach my kids about.
