I ran into a friend tonight who was having a hard time with her Kindergartener. He has sensory issues and although the school staff is supportive, the other parents are not. I know all too well how she feels. It is so easy to be the one who is judging others, but not so easy to be the one who is judged. And not at all fair either. Who amongst us has the right to judge anyone. Having kids is so hard because you are so overwhelmed by your love for them and at the same time, they make you feel so vulnerable. When they are judged by someone, it’s an extension of yourself that feels hurt. I wish we could all be more gentle with each other, and especially with children and parents. It’s the toughest thing to do, be a parent, we can use all the support we can get and we don’t need to be judged. At some point in time, we will all be judged for something, let us try to remember how to feel compassion for one another.
